Emotional Intelligence
Here at The Peer Group People our focus is on the human side of leadership. We recognise that as technological and societal changes evolve, there is a danger that leaders lose their focus on the importance of human connection and the ethical considerations of their role.
Emotional intelligence (EQ) is a critical and crucial skill for leaders. It allows them to understand and manage their emotions, to build relationships and to handle interpersonal dynamics effectively, with kindness and courage. A decline in EQ, moving away from the human side of leadership, can result in leaders who are less able to empathise or to understand the challenges their teams are dealing with.
Prioritising meaningful interpersonal interactions allows leaders to better understand employee needs and fosters a supportive culture within the organisation. It encourages effective communication, builds trust, and ultimately benefits the individuals and the organisation.
