Frequently asked questions

Here are some questions we’ve been asked before.

If you need a little help, please take a look at some questions that we have been asked before. If this still doesn’t help, please ask us a new question below.

Joining
How long, on average, is someone a member of a group?

Great question! And a tricky one to answer. The experience from the first group is that we have members who have been with us from the start (2018) and others have been with us for 3 or 4 years and have moved on because they have moved geographically, personal circumstances have changed or their new roles do not support membership. Every story is unique but we do say it is a bit like Hotel California; you can check out but you never really leave! All our alumni remain in touch and are welcome to reconnect with the group. Some retain the coaching services only. Others promote peer groups within their organisations to share the power of what they have experienced.

Does the employer normally pay the membership fee?

Most members’ fees are paid by their employer and it is part of their L&D or leadership development/training package. We always encourage members who are switching roles to make sure they have their Peer Group membership included in their full package. Some members choose to pay themselves.

Are there T&C’s for joining?

Yes, we have T&C’s for joining the Peer Groups. This is to ensure confidentiality is maintained, commitment is ensured and payment is received!

Membership
Can I know who is in current groups?

No, not initially. We don’t share members names at the outset. We would like you to have genuine interest in what you can bring as well as what you can gain by becoming a member. Once we have spoken and are both confident that this is a format which will work well for you, then you will be able to speak to current members and attend a session to get a real sense of who is in the room.

What if I can’t make all the meetings?

We do ask members to commit to the meetings and share the dates for the coming year in December of the previous year. We recognise that there will be times when you cannot be in the room. You can join virtually, but not as a regular thing. If you cannot make three meetings in a row then we might need to have a chat about whether the group is really adding the value you need if you cannot prioritise your diary accordingly!
